Formed in 2018 at a chance encounter at a Simple Minds gig and tutored by members of that band, 30 Frames A Second are a Sydney-based fourpiece who love playing new wave, eurowave pop sounds.
1978
Trapped in a huge, cryogenic Frigidaire by the evil Doctor Peter Frampton in the late 70’s, four haggard veterans emerged blinking into the COVID-ravaged sunshine of Sydney in the 2020’s.
The spirit of punk rock still pumping in their veins, they were seized by an irrational impulse - to form the band that ultimately became 1978. Their aim? To breathe life back into the tunes that made the late 1970’s bearable by bands like the Clash, the Ramones, the Damned, the Dead Boys, the Saints, Radio Birdman, the Only Ones and Johnny Thunders’ Heartbreakers
